Module 6: Isarithmic Mapping


     This week's lesson covered isarithmic and flowline mapping. The lab had us explore continuous tone and hypsometric tinting utilizing a data set of annual precipitation (in) information for the state of Washington. The same data was truncated using the Int spatial analysis tool in ArcGIS Pro and a map was created implementing both continuous tone and hypsometric tinting. The resulting map is pictured above.
     The above map displays the annual precipitation (in) of Washington state shown via continuous tone. Elevations are depicted via a hypsometric tint overlayed on top of the precipitation data. Included, is a brief description of how the data was collected and interpolated.
