Module 2: LiDAR

This week we explored LiDAR and how to use it to create vegetation height rasters and canopy density maps. We utilized the LAS Dataset to Raster tool, the Minus tool, LAS to Multipoint, and Point to Raster tool to create various intermediary datasets concerning height and digital surface modeling. We also used the Count, IS NULL, and Con tools to manipulate these datasets. The adjusted datasets were run through the Plus tool and the density was determined with the Divide tool. We also created a chart of the vegetation heights. The outputs for vegetation height and density, as well as digital surface modeling, can be seen above.
