Module 3: Intro to Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR), Sensors, & Digital Image Processing

This week's lab introduced us to Erdas Imagine and various ways to utilize the program in analyzing and editing raster data. The activity incorporated theory regarding electromagnetic radiation, radiometric resolution, spatial resolution, spectral resolution, and temporal resolution. We were also tasked with calculating various frequencies, wavelengths, and energy per photon for several sections of the Electromagnetic Spectrum. The lab required us to alter data in Erdas Imagine and then create a map of the altered raster data via ArcGIS Pro. The data consisted of land cover classifications from a satellite image for a section of Northwestern Washington State. The resulting map is displayed above.
