The goal of our assessment was to determine how complete each of the road shapefiles were. The assessment was conducted by clipping the road networks to a grid shapefile using the Clip tool. The total length of roads per each grid cell was found for each road shapefile via the Summarize Within tool. A union was performed to combine the two road per grid shapefiles and the percentage difference between the two was calculated for each grid cell. The results are shown in the map above, with negative values indicating that the TIGER set is more complete and the positive values representing the Street Centerline set as more complete.
